Joey has been tending bar in San Francisco since 1978. One of the original bar managers for the Balboa Cafe, Joey was instrumental in the rebirth of one of San Francisco's great establishments. After ten years (1988), Joey assisted Boz Scaggs at his first venture, the Blue Light Cafe. From there, Joey moved with Boz to his nightclub, Slims. In 1995, Joey had the opportunity to design the tropical menu at Betelnut. After brief stints at Marina Central and Samos, Joey became part of the team at the Bechelli's Flower Market Cafe. Joey has known Mark since the beginning of Bechelli's and the 'new' Balboa Cafe.
